Annual Conference 2024: “The Future of Kurdish Studies in Italy”

The Italian Network of Kurdish Studies is pleased to announce its Annual Conference 2024, which will be held on March 15–16, 2024 at the University of Milan.

Conference Program

Day 1 – March 15, 2024

9:00–9:30 – Registration and welcome coffee

9:30–10:00 – Opening remarks

  • Greetings from the Rector of the University of Milan
  • Introduction by the President of the Italian Network of Kurdish Studies

10:00–11:30 – Plenary session: “The State of Kurdish Studies in Italy”

  • Speaker: Prof. Marco Bianchi (University of Bologna)
  • Discussant: Dr. Sara Rossi (University of Turin)

11:30–11:45 – Coffee break

11:45–13:15 – Panel: “Contemporary Kurdish Literature”

14:30–16:00 – Workshop: “Research Methods in Kurdish Studies”

Registration

Participation is free of charge, but online registration is required by March 1, 2024.

Accommodation

For participants coming from outside Milan, we have arranged special rates at hotels near the university.

Certificates

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Call for Papers

We welcome proposals for oral presentations and posters on all aspects of Kurdish studies. Proposals should be submitted by February 15, 2024.
